Automotive industry demands met as Rochester Electronics receives certification for semiconductor production

Rochester Electronics, a leading provider of semiconductor components, has just received a major industry certification. The company has been awarded the IATF 16949:2016 certification for the manufacture of semiconductor components at its US-based facilities. This certification is a major achievement for Rochester Electronics and demonstrates their commitment to quality and reliability.

The use of semiconductors in the automotive industry has grown rapidly in recent years. Today’s cars contain an average of between 1,500 and 3,000 semiconductor chips, making the semiconductor supply chain an integral part of the manufacturing process. This certification ensures that Rochester Electronics is meeting the highest standards for quality and reliability in the production of semiconductor components for the automotive industry.

“This IATF certification further solidifies Rochester Electronics’ reputation for quality and reliability and highlights our commitment to our semiconductor partners and customers,” said Mike Dube, VP Manufacturing and Engineering at Rochester Electronics. “We are extremely proud of our team for their work on achieving this milestone for the company.”

As the automotive industry continues to evolve, the demand for high-quality semiconductor components will only increase. Rochester Electronics’ certification is a testament to their ability to meet this demand and support the growth of the automotive industry.
